Education
Learning from the Masters
For over 10 years, I've studied and practiced the art of long arm quilting. I've had the privilege of taking classes under masters of hand guided quilting like Bethanne Nemesh and Karen McTavish. I find learning from different educators with a variety of styles and experiences allows me to bring a well-rounded repertoire of skills to each quilt.
Experience
Passion & Attention to Details
I first learned how to use a sewing machine in 2004. What began as a curious interest quickly turned into a learning obsession and creative adventure. "Meandering" reflects my love of trying new methods, learning new techniques, and exploring new-to-me styles. I first tried sewing on a long arm machine in 2016 and fell in love! I rented machines for countless hours at Fabric Bash in Omaha for years, completing several custom quilts, including one king sized quilt! I purchased my first machine, an APQS Millie, in 2023 and named her "Inara" which means "strength and empowerment". Millie and I look forward to empowering you to put the finishing touches on your next project.
Excellence
Professional Tools for Precise Results
My Dad taught me two important lessons. First, use the right tool for the job. The second lesson was, "A hammer will fix anything." I promise not to use a hammer on your quilt...most likely. I will, however, use the right tool for the job. For more than 40 Years, APQS has been handcrafting the world's finest quilting machines in Carroll, Iowa. They've built the company on four key pillars: quality, innovation, excellence and customer service. Because of their excellent customer service, my machine has little to no down time. What does this mean for my customers? It means I am able to deliver precision stitching and professional results in a timely manner...and more than I could with a hammer.
